Training
Pre-Service Training
Each foster and adoptive family is required to
complete approximately 30 hours of pre-service training before the
family is verified. Covenant Kids offers all of the required training
classes at our office in Arlington. We utilize the on-site training
as an opportunity to get to know each family during the pre-service
process.
Covenant Kids' pre-service classes typically run 4 weeks, with new classes
starting every 6-8 weeks. Typically, the verification process takes 2-4 months.
After a family completes the required training and paperwork, a Home Study is scheduled.
When the Home Study is complete and has been approved by CK's Treatment Team, the home is
then verified and can begin receiving children.

training classes are held at Covenant Kids throughout the year,
and families may also earn hours by attending other accredited courses,
taking courses online, or by reading a pre-approved book on a relevant
topic. Covenant Kids offers a resource library containing books
and videos, as well.
