Mike & Staci
Dear Birthparent,
No matter how you have arrived at this point in your life, we want you to know that we love you and have been praying specifically for you. We don’t come to this journey through the grief of infertility, but rather through the joy of God’s calling. We are thrilled beyond words that you have chosen life for your precious little one and pray that God will lead you to the family that will be perfect to raise your baby.
Our names are Mike, Staci, Brody, and Barrett. Family is a priority to us and God has blessed us with an amazing one! We are very close to our parents, siblings, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. We’d love to tell you about all of them when we meet you in person, so for now we’ll just tell the story of our immediate family.
About Mike:
Mike is a loving and compassionate husband and father. He is a natural leader and self-starter who loves spending time with his family. Mike enjoys almost every outdoor activity from hiking, camping, and fishing to golf, football, and softball. He also enjoys teaching our boys how to work with their hands (they recently built a shed in our backyard). He is an amazing cook and delights in sharing his cooking secrets with our children. Mike works for an oil and gas company as a supervisor in the Information Technology department. It is a company with amazing benefits (great vacation, health insurance, and retirement benefits). His job has been a blessing to our family.
About Staci:
Staci is outgoing, loving, encouraging, and is joyful about being a wife and mom. She loves to exercise (aerobics classes, running, going on walks with the kids at the park, etc). She loves to read and has a passion for photography and blogging. She journals our day to day life on our blog and then publishes it in book form each year so that we can preserve it for generations to come. Staci’s primary “job” is being a mom. She also works part-time for her mom as an accountant. Staci’s parents live just down the street from us and the boys go to work with Staci on the days she works. Since both Staci’s parents work out of the home, the kids get to see their grandparents almost daily!
About The Boys:
Brody (born August 2006) and Barrett (born June 2008) both attend preschool 2 days a week. Brody loves life and is very passionate and animated about everything he does. He and Barrett love playing together and they’re both very excited about a new baby. Brody prays for you and for our new baby every day. Brody tells everyone about our adoption and asks us daily when he’ll get to hold his new brother or sister. Barrett adores his older brother and tries to imitate everything he does (including talking nonstop). He currently loves tractors and puppies and alerts us in a loud voice whenever he sees either one! Both boys adore their daddy and run into his arms every day when he gets home from work.
Our Story:
Our journey began at Abilene Christian University in February 1999. On our very 1st date we each knew that we had found the person we were going to marry. We were married in August 1999 and have spent the past 11+ years growing closer as a couple and falling more in love every day. From August 2000 thru June 2008, we lived in a small town in central Kansas. In 2008 we decided to move back to Texas in order to be closer to family.
God plays a vital role in our lives. Every day we spend time in the Word and in prayer with our boys. We strive to teach them to love and show compassion for others and to seek to imitate Christ in every aspect of their life. One of our favorite times of the week is when we meet with our small group (in home Bible study) of friends on Sunday night. We all have young children (Brody is the oldest) and are enjoying growing together as parents and Christians.
As a family, we enjoy traveling together and like for our vacations to contain some element of adventure (ie: camping, jet skiing, climbing mountains in Colorado, etc.) When we’re at home we enjoy watching movies together, swimming in our backyard, going for rides in our Jeep, playing Putt Putt, or just hanging out with family.
We’d love to meet you in person so that we can get to know you and answer any questions you have. We know that the decision you are making is one of the hardest decisions of your life and you can rest assured that your child will know about the sacrifice you made if he/she becomes a part of our family. We plan to tell your baby the special story of how God placed him/her in our lives from the time he/she is placed in our arms. We would love to share pictures and stories of your child with you through letters, emails, or possibly a blog. We are also open in discussing with you plans for meetings and email exchanges. We know that God has the perfect family for your precious baby and pray that you will find comfort in His arms and His plan during your search.
Blessings,
Mike & Staci
