Foster Care

Foster parenting is a rewarding experience and offers families the opportunity to provide loving care and a nurturing, healing environment for children who have been abused and neglected.  When children are not receiving proper care and are not safe within their own homes, the state may take custody of the child while their birth family works to regain the right to parent their child.  Foster families provide the temporary home where a child can find healing while working toward reunification with their birth family.

Foster parenting takes being patience, love, and commitment.  It is an important decision that should be made prayerfully and not taken lightly.  Take a moment to think about your answers to these questions:

  • Do I have a strong love and commitment to children?
  • Am I personally committed to Jesus Christ?
  • Am I involved with my church and do I attend regularly?
  • Do I have great problem-solving skills and enjoy teaching children new things?
  • Can I maintain a stable home environment that is an open place for growth and learning?
  • Do I have reliable transportation and the ability to transport children in my care to appointments?
  • Am I in good physical, mental, and emotional health?
  • Do I want to make a positive impact on children’s lives?

If you can answer Yes to each of these questions, we would be excited to talk to you about ministering to foster children in your home.
