Robert

Robert, otherwise known as “Bobby”, has faced many challenges. Despite these challenges, he is a happy and pleasant child. He is a delight to be around. He enjoys playing in the water and taking pictures. Some of his favorite toys are ones that make noise, light up, and make music. Bobby plays well with his foster sisters and is always following them around.

Bobby’s caregivers describe him as very loving. He has developed a bond with his caregivers and is affectionate with them. Bobby requires a daily routine and consistency. He has significant medical needs due to suffering from myelomeningolcele, bilateral clubfeet, spina bifida, and no movement of his lower extremities. He also has corrective braces on his legs.
Bobby is able to get around by crawling. He is unable to verbally express himself, but he interacts through his behaviors and recognizes individual voices. Bobby is fed through a feeding tube and is very limited in the solid foods he eats. He will need pervasive support and total dependence on others, including life-sustaining care. Bobby requires constant assistance and supervision.
Bobby will continue to thrive in a nurturing and stimulating home environment. It is crucial that his family advocate for his well being, as he will continue to require extensive medical intervention.

Desired Family Profile

Bobby will do well with a family who has a strong support system, is resourceful, and can offer unconditional love, attention, and strong guidance. He will do best with a family who has previous experience working with children who have special needs. Above all, there must be a firm commitment in caring for him and what may arise in his future.
