Shannon Bouse, LMSW

Shannon graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Stephen F. Austin State University and went on to complete a Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Texas at Arlington.  Shannon is a Licensed Master Social Worker.  Shannon has worked with foster and adoptive children and families for 16 years, and she has been a part of the Covenant Kids team since 2006.   As the Adoption Director, Shannon oversees the agency’s foster parent adoptions, leads pre-service adoption training, and is responsible for matching Covenant Kids families with waiting children throughout the state of Texas who are in need of an adoptive or legal risk placement.

Kristin Simpson, MA

Kristin graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Randolph-Macon College and went on to complete a Master’s degree in Art Therapy at George Washington University.  Kristin has worked in social services for more than 10 years and has experience in post-adoption services, mental health services, services for children with autism,  and assessing foster and adoptive families.  Kristin joined the Covenant Kids team in 2008, initially working with prospective foster and adoptive families and then coordinating the Embrace Adoption program, ministering to women experiencing a crisis pregnancy.  Kristin also worked with prospective adoptive parents through the verification, matching, and placement processes.  Kristin has also worked in Post Adoption Services at Covenant Kids before her promotion to the role of Assistant Adoption Director.

Al Blankenship

Al graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Howard Payne University.  He began his professional career in adoption over seventeen years ago with Child Protective Services and has served as a senior administrator in the field of adoption since 2002. Al is recognized across the state for his support and preparation of families to successfully adopt children with special needs, and is frequently consulted regarding adoption issues. He encourages adoption professionals to enhance their clinical skills in working with children and families and has developed a training curriculum for adoption case workers which he has taught throughout the state of Texas over the past four years.  As the Adoption Development Director for Covenant Kids he is responsible for building networks between the agency and professionals throughout Texas while assisting Covenant Kids in supporting and preparing our adoptive families. He is passionate about adoptions and strives to ensure that all children and parents we serve are well prepared and supported in their adoptions.

Amanda Ball

Matched Adoption Specialist

Amanda graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Development and Family Studies from the University of North Texas.  Amanda has been a part of the Covenant Kids since 2008, working with Foster and Adoptive Families.  Amanda has a variety of experiences working with children of all ages in many different settings, such as daycare, elementary school, hospital, Special Olympics and with other volunteer organizations.  Amanda joined the Covenant Kids team as a Case Manager before her promotion to the role of Matched Adoption Specialist.

Courtney Maiorana, LBSW

Courtney graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Midwestern State University and is a Licensed Baccalaureate Social Worker.  As a military wife, Courtney has had the opportunity serve military children through teaching with the Department of Defense and working with children while their parents were deployed.  She has worked in the social services field for nearly 10 years and joined the Covenant Kids team in 2005 as a Case Manager in Foster Care, and transitioned into the area of Adoption a year later.  She has completed extensive training with Dr. Karyn Purvis in Trust-Based Relational Interventions and has used these skills to excel in work with adoptive children and families.

Paul Cuppett, PsyD

Paul graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Counseling from Texas Christian University.  He then went on to complete his Doctor of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology at the Georgia School of Professional Psychology in Atlanta, Georgia.  He received specific training in pediatric and child psychology at Hugh Spalding Children’s Hospital in Atlanta, and at Hawthorne Children’s Psychiatric Hospital in St. Louis.    He previously worked as a full time psychologist for the Texas Youth Commission, providing clinical and administrative oversight for the acute care psychiatric unit in Corsicana.  He has been in private practice since 1992 and with Covenant Kids since 2005.  Paul’s careful and conscientious assessment of children is an invaluable resource to the Covenant Kids team.  His investment in the success of each of the children we serve, as well as their families, is a true blessing to our organization.

Donna Campbell, PsyD

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Donna graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Texas Christian University. She then went on to complete her Master of Arts and Doctor of Psychology degrees in Clinical Psychology at the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University in Dallas. Donna has experience with children, adolescents, and adults, for whom she has conducted numerous psychological, neuropsychological, and extended forensic assessments, as well as conducted individual, group, and play therapy. Prior to beginning with Covenant Kids in November 2010, Donna completed her post-doctoral residency at Cook Children’s Psychology Clinic in Denton and pre-doctoral internship at The Children’s Assessment Center in Houston.
